Building on their success and the positive feedback from their clients, theyare seeking an ambitious and driven Transport and Installation Engineer/Manager. This role is critical to supporting their current and future clients and developing new business lines for the company. Description

As a Transport and Installation Engineer/Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful and efficient transport and installation of offshore wind farm assets. You will use your technical expertise and project management skills to oversee complex operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental and client standards. This role involves close collaboration with clients, contractors, and various stakeholders to deliver projects on schedule and within budget

 

Responsibilities

Supporting Project Planning and Coordination: Develop comprehensive transport and installation plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with clients and internal teams for challenging projects requiring state of the art technology and installation techniques.

Technical Oversight: Provide expert technical guidance to clients and the wider team on the logistics and methodologies for transporting and installing offshore wind turbine components, including foundations, WTGs and cables.

Supplier and Contractor Management: Support clients to engage with and manage third-party contractors and suppliers to ensure adherence to project specifications, schedules, and quality standards.

Regulatory and Internal Compliance: Ensure company activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices, including client, health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges in transport and installation phases which may be unique to client projects.

On-site Supervision: Where required, oversee on-site activities during key phases of transport and installation to ensure procedures are followed and issues are promptly resolved.

Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure high standards of engineering and operational deliverables.

Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the transport and installation phases, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns.

Documentation and Reporting: When required by clients, maintain detailed records of all transport and installation activities, including progress reports, incident reports, and final project documentation.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in transport and installation operations, contributing to the continuous improvement of clients and the company including it’s employees. 

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.

Masters degree preferred and membership of professional organisation preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transport and installation of offshore wind turbines or similar large-scale marine engineering projects.

- Proven project management experience, with the ability to lead complex projects from inception to completion.

- In-depth knowledge of offshore wind turbine systems and installation techniques.

- Strong understanding of marine logistics, vessel operations, and offshore construction practices.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.

- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards, such as BOSIET, GWO certifications, and ISO standards.

- Proficiency in project management software and tools. - Willingness to travel and spend extended periods on offshore sites as required.

 

Location

Flexible with a combination of working from home, client office-based work and travel to site when required as well as travel to consultancy offices in Southampton. Candidates based in a Scottish city or Southampton area will be preferred.
