Our client is an international provider of marine transportation to the oil, gas and chemical industries.  Owning a fleet of over 100 tankers comprised of gas, product and chemical.  They have offices located in over 15 countries giving them a truly global presence. For this vacancy they are looking for a Technical Superintendent for their Glasgow office.

 

Working as a Technical Superintendent in one of the words shipping hubs you will be expected to plan, control and execute all activities connected with maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, conversion or modification of assigned vessels.  Further duties will include monitoring vessel performance trends including speed, fuel/lubricant consumption and productivity implementing timely and appropriate actions where necessary.  Key to success in this role will not only be managing your Chief Engineers to ensure they take ownership of their vessel but also conduct regular ship visits and observing first hand your fleet in action.
 

Key criteria for this role:
 

  • Sailed as a Chief Engineer on Gas tankers.
     
  • Have 3 Year’s experience as a Tech Super managing Gas tankers.
     
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and interact with people at all levels. Spoken and written English essential.
     
  • Be able to set and maintain fiscal budgets.
     
  • Happy to live and work in Singapore.
