Vessel Operator

Our client is an established international shipping business with a strong presence in the global dry cargo market and extensive experience operating MPP and Heavy Lift vessels. With operations spanning key shipping markets worldwide, the company has built a strong reputation for providing reliable and flexible transportation solutions for complex, project and breakbulk cargoes. As the business continues to develop its operations, they are looking to strengthen their Dubai team with an experienced Vessel Operator.

They are currently looking to appoint a Vessel Operator who will take responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of MPP and Heavy Lift vessels. The successful candidate will oversee voyages from fixture through to completion, working closely with Masters, charterers, agents, brokers and other stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient and commercially successful operations. Responsibilities will include voyage planning and execution, monitoring vessel performance, coordinating port calls, managing operational documentation, reviewing voyage costs and ensuring any operational issues are resolved efficiently.

Requirements:
 

• Minimum 2+ years’ experience as a Vessel Operator working with MPP and/or Heavy Lift vessels.
   
• Strong experience dealing directly with charterers and other key stakeholders throughout vessel operations.
   
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
   
• Good understanding of voyage planning, port operations and the commercial aspects of vessel operations.
   
• Experience monitoring vessel performance, voyage costs and operational expenditure.
   
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple vessels and voyages simultaneously.
