Our client is a leading maritime organisation operating a modern fleet of gas carriers, providing safe and reliable transportation services for LPG, petrochemicals, and specialist gases across international markets. With a global presence and a strong commitment to operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement, our client offers an exciting opportunity for experienced maritime professionals to join their team.
 

We are currently seeking an experienced Vetting Auditor to support our client’s fleet operations. Reporting to the Fleet Manager, Vetting, you will be responsible for conducting internal vetting audits, supporting onboard crew training, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring vessels are operated safely and in full compliance with company procedures, statutory regulations, and industry requirements. The role will involve reviewing SIRE/CDI requirements, analysing inspection findings, supporting corrective actions, delivering safety training, and working closely with vessel teams and shore-based management to improve fleet performance. The successful candidate will also assist with evolving regulatory requirements, inspection preparation, and maintaining high standards across vessel operations.
 

The requirements for this role are,
 

  • Previous experience sailing as Master or Chief Engineer
     
  • Minimum 24 months’ experience as Master, Chief Officer, Chief Engineer, or Second Engineer within gas operations
     
  • Experience sailing with Ethylene Vessels will be extremely advantageous
     
  • Shore-based superintendent experience with gas vessels will also be considered
     
  • Strong knowledge of vessel management rules, regulations, and compliance requirements
     
  • Experience with SIRE, CDI, vetting inspections, and safety management systems
     
  • Ability to travel at short notice and manage a flexible 24/7 on-call lifestyle when required
