A well-established name within the international dry bulk market, our client has developed a successful shipping business supported by strong commercial expertise and long-standing relationships throughout the industry. The company is active across global dry bulk trades and continues to expand its commercial operations as it identifies new opportunities within the market. They are now looking to appoint an experienced chartering professional to strengthen their team.
 

Playing a key role in the commercial performance of the fleet, the Chartering Manager will be responsible for the chartering and employment of Handy and Ultramax vessels. The position will involve developing relationships with owners, charterers and brokers, negotiating fixtures, monitoring market conditions, assessing trading opportunities and working closely with the wider operations team to ensure successful execution of fixtures.
 

The requirements for this role are:
 

  • Previous experience in a dry bulk chartering role
     
  • Strong experience with Handy and/or Ultramax vessels
     
  • Proven track record of negotiating and fixing dry bulk cargoes
     
  • Established relationships with ship owners, charterers and brokers
     
  • Strong understanding of the global dry bulk market
     
  • Excellent commercial negotiation and analytical skills
     
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
     
  • Fluency in English
