Having built a strong position within the international dry bulk market, our client operates a sizeable fleet across a range of global trade routes. The company has developed an excellent reputation through its commercial expertise, operational capabilities and long-standing relationships with ship owners and charterers. With continued growth across the business, they are now looking to add an experienced Vessel Operator to their commercial team.
 

Responsible for the day-to-day commercial and operational management of a fleet of Handy and Ultramax vessels, the Vessel Operator will play an important role in ensuring voyages are executed efficiently and profitably. The role will involve coordinating with Masters, charterers, agents and owners, monitoring vessel performance, managing voyages from fixture through to completion, handling operational matters and ensuring vessels operate in accordance with charter party requirements.
 

The requirements for this role are:
 

  • Previous experience as a Vessel Operator within the dry bulk shipping industry
     
  • Experience operating Handy and/or Ultramax vessels
     
  • Strong knowledge of voyage operations and charter party requirements
     
  • Experience liaising with ship owners, charterers, agents and vessel crews
     
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills
     
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
     
  • Fluency in English
