Our client is a globally recognised specialist in heavy transport and engineered logistics, delivering complex solutions across the offshore, energy, infrastructure and industrial sectors. With a modern fleet of specialised vessels and a reputation for executing some of the world's most challenging projects, they continue to invest in innovation, operational excellence and the development of their people. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to strengthen their shore-based operations team with the appointment of an experienced maritime professional.

As the Head of Nautical Operations, you will take overall responsibility for the safe and efficient execution of the company's global vessel operations. Leading a team of nautical specialists, you will oversee voyage planning, route optimisation, regulatory compliance and operational performance across the fleet. Working closely with commercial, technical and crewing teams, you will ensure every voyage is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with both company and industry standards while acting as the senior escalation point for complex operational matters.

The requirements for this role are:

  • Master Mariner Certificate of Competency or equivalent maritime qualification.

  • 7+ years' experience in a senior marine, nautical operations or fleet operations position.

  • Strong knowledge of voyage planning, weather routing, navigation and bridge management.

  • Excellent understanding of maritime legislation, ISM Code, flag state and class requirements.

  • Proven leadership experience managing both seagoing and shore-based teams.

  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance operational efficiency and safety.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Willingness to travel internationally and attend vessel visits when required.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a market-leading international organisation operating at the forefront of heavy marine transport. In return, our client offers an excellent salary, flexible hybrid working, outstanding benefits and the opportunity to play a key leadership role within a highly respected global business.
