Junior Shipbuilding / Marine Systems Designer

Consortio have partnered with a specialist engineering business supporting the development of modern technical systems within the maritime industry. Working on projects for established companies across the sector, they provide engineers and designers with the opportunity to work on technically challenging shipbuilding and marine engineering projects. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to bring a Junior Shipbuilding / Marine Systems Designer into their team in Germany or the Netherlands, and you could be their perfect next hire.

They are looking for a Junior Engineer who is either a recent graduate or has some initial experience within engineering or technical design. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will support the design and development of technical ship systems and components, producing 3D CAD models, technical drawings and manufacturing documentation. You will gradually take on more responsibility across the design process while gaining valuable practical experience on a range of maritime development projects.

To be eligible for this role you need to:

• Hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Shipbuilding, Marine Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Have some initial experience in design or engineering, although graduates will also be considered.
• Have experience using a 3D CAD system, ideally Siemens NX, Creo or similar.
• Have a good understanding of mechanical assemblies and technical systems.
• Be comfortable working with technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Have a structured, accurate and independent approach to your work.Be a strong team player with an interest in solving technical challenges.
• Have good German OR Dutch and English language skills.
• Experience with maritime systems, technical construction or mechanical design would be advantageous.
