Consortio has partnered with a globally recognised organisation operating within the marine surveying and consultancy sector, delivering senior-level technical expertise across hull & machinery, insurance, damage investigation, compliance, and wider marine consultancy services. Recognised for its technical authority, professional integrity, and long-standing client relationships, the organisation continues to expand its international operations and is now seeking to strengthen its senior surveying capability through the appointment of an experienced Senior Marine Surveyor.

As a Senior Marine Surveyor, you will take a lead role in the delivery of complex survey assignments, acting as a trusted technical point of contact for insurers, shipowners, operators, legal representatives, and other key stakeholders. You will manage surveys from attendance through to final reporting, provide expert technical guidance, and support the development of junior surveyors within the team. This position offers a high level of autonomy and responsibility within a well-established consultancy environment.

The requirements for this role are:

  • Demonstrable seagoing experience as a Marine Engineer
  • Extensive experience within the marine surveying sector, ideally gained within a consultancy, insurance, or classification-related environment
  • Strong technical capability in hull & machinery surveys, damage investigations, and insurance-related survey work
  • A university or college degree in Marine Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional European languages are advantageous
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads, work independently, and deliver high-quality technical reports to deadlines
  • Proven capability in client-facing situations, with a professional and commercially aware approach
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
  • Eligibility to work within the region of employment

This position offers an opportunity to join a respected marine consultancy at a senior level, providing exposure to technically challenging and varied assignments, long-term career stability, and continued professional development. A competitive remuneration and benefits package is available, commensurate with experience and seniority.
