With a long-standing presence in the maritime sector and a reputation built over many decades, the organisation provides specialist surveying and advisory services to a wide range of stakeholders including P&I Clubs, shipowners, insurers and legal professionals. Their work covers claims handling support, casualty investigation, risk analysis and damage prevention, and they are widely regarded as a trusted and reliable name within the maritime sector. Due to continued growth and an increasing volume of instructions, they are now looking to appoint a Marine Surveyor to join their team.
As a Marine Surveyor, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of surveys and inspections across different vessel types. This will include condition surveys, investigating damage to vessels and equipment, and assisting with matters relating to personal injury claims. The role will involve gathering evidence, preparing reports and providing factual findings to support clients including insurers, shipowners and legal representatives. You may also assist with cases that involve courts, lawyers and other legal specialists within the maritime sector.
To be eligible for this role you will need to:
- Have sailed as either a Master Mariner, Chief Officer, 2nd Officer, 3rd Officer or 4th Officer.
- Previous marine surveying experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Have the right to live and work in the EU.
- Speak fluent English and have a good level of Dutch.
- Be adaptable, proactive and keen to develop new skills within marine surveying.
This opportunity offers the chance to join a respected and independent consultancy on a permanent basis, where you will gain exposure to a wide range of maritime cases and develop your career within marine surveying. In return, the company offers a competitive salary, strong benefits and long-term career progression, including the potential to become a partner within the business after several years with the company.
