Consortio have partnered with a highly regarded independent marine surveying company, recognised for delivering reliable, high quality services across cargo, P&I, and marine consultancy assignments on a global scale. With a reputation built on technical expertise and long-standing client relationships, the organisation operates with the agility and collaboration of a close knit team. Following upcoming retirements and continued growth in international demand, they are now seeking an experienced Marine Surveyor to join their team.

This is a dynamic and hands on position, offering a balance between fieldwork and office-based responsibilities. Working as part of a team of eight, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a wide range of marine surveys while supporting the operational and administrative functions that underpin project delivery. The role offers significant international exposure, with approximately 50% travel, providing the opportunity to work across a diverse range of ports, vessels, and cargo types worldwide. Responsibilities will include conducting cargo and P&I surveys, inspections, and investigations; assessing damage, loss, and operational issues; producing detailed technical reports; liaising with shipowners, insurers, and legal representatives; and maintaining accurate documentation and case files. The position also requires a collaborative approach to support team workload and ensure the efficient delivery of services.

To be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:

  • 4–5 years of seagoing experience, ideally holding an Officer’s Licence
  • Approximately 5 years of experience in marine surveying
  • Strong background in cargo and P&I surveys
  • Experience within a survey company or exposure to P&I or cargo claims environments
  • Excellent report writing, file management, and administrative skills
  • A degree or equivalent qualification is preferred
  • Willingness to travel internationally for approximately 50% of the time
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with the ability to support a small, busy team

This position offers the opportunity to join a respected and well-established organisation where expertise is valued and individual contributions are highly visible. Alongside a collaborative and supportive working environment, the role provides exposure to a wide variety of international assignments, supporting long-term professional development and career progression. If you believe you meet the requirements, please submit your CV.
