Consortio has partnered with a well-established and rapidly expanding player in the marine engineering sector, a company that has earned a strong reputation for delivering high-quality products and solutions backed by exceptional after-sales support. With a focus on innovation, reliability, and long-term client partnerships, the business continues to grow both in the UK and across international markets.
We are seeking a Mechanical Design / Project Engineer to join the firm’s dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will take ownership of designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies, producing both 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings using tools such as AutoCAD and PTC Creo. You will play a key part in maintaining and improving existing product lines, supporting one-off bespoke projects, and ensuring that designs meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and compliance.
Working closely with project teams, you will also contribute to value engineering initiatives, create and manage Bills of Materials within the MRP system, and support the preparation of specifications, tender documentation, and technical manuals. The position offers the opportunity to engage directly with clients, attend project meetings, and influence both product development and wider operational procedures.
The requirements for this role are:
- A B.Sc./B.Eng in Engineering (or equivalent).
- At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design, ideally with exposure to casting, machining, and fabrication processes.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and working knowledge of Creo or SolidWorks.
- Proven ability to create and manage BoMs within CAD/MRP systems.
- A methodical, numerically strong, and problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent written English and a keen eye for detail.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a high-performing team.
- Previous marine or mechanical sector experience advantageous but not essential.
This role offers the chance to be part of a highly skilled and supportive engineering team within a business that values initiative, innovation, and professional growth. Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll benefit from a profit share scheme, pension contributions, and the opportunity to make a real impact in a company recognised for its reliability and expertise in the global marine sector.
