Consortio has partnered with a global leader in inspection, testing, and certification services, with operations across numerous industries and regions. Within the Benelux, their Natural Resources – Minerals division is a cornerstone of the business, specializing in the quality and quantity control of commodities including ores, coal, ferrous alloys, and industrial minerals. This company is known for its commitment to integrity, precision, and continuous development of its people and processes.

Our client is currently expanding and is looking to appoint a Surveyor & Preparation Technician to support its minerals operations across the Benelux region. This hybrid role offers a unique blend of fieldwork and lab responsibilities. As a Surveyor, you will conduct inspections on seagoing and inland vessels during loading and unloading operations, carry out draft surveys, calibrate barges, and inspect cargo holds. Alongside this, your lab duties will include the preparation and testing of solid fuels such as coal and biomass, moisture and sieve analysis, and the management of sample storage and documentation.

Key Requirements for the job role:

  • MBO education (preferably in a nautical direction) – shipping experience is a plus.
  • DIA Certificate.
  • Physically fit, motivated, and able to carry out heavy manual tasks.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
  • Flexible on working hours and location.
  • Valid Category B driving license.
