With a strong reputation across container, breakbulk, agency, forwarding, and husbandry services, our client is continuing to expand its commercial presence across key international trade routes. As part of an ambitious growth strategy, they are now seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join their team and play a pivotal role in driving business development and strengthening long-term customer relationships.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven maritime professional to make a significant impact within a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. Working closely alongside another Sales Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, expanding the client portfolio, and growing cargo volumes across multiple shipping services. The role combines strategic business development with hands-on account management, requiring regular engagement with customers, carriers, terminals, and key logistics stakeholders. You will be instrumental in converting market opportunities into sustainable revenue streams while acting as a trusted partner to both clients and internal operational teams. Requirements:
- Proven experience in a commercial, sales, or business development role within the maritime, shipping, forwarding, or logistics sector.
- Strong understanding of container shipping, breakbulk operations, freight forwarding, or agency services, with the ability to build and maintain lasting customer relationships.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating contracts, managing tenders, achieving sales targets, and growing business volumes.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with experience using CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
- Fluent in both Dutch and English, with a proactive and results-driven approach and a willingness to travel for customer meetings, trade fairs, and industry events.
Experience within Cold Chain Logistics, Project Logistics, Breakbulk Cargo, Forwarding, or trade lanes across Africa and Latin America would be highly advantageous.
