With a strong focus on safety, operational excellence and the long-term development of its fleet and people, the company continues to expand its technical operations and is now looking to strengthen its shore-based team with an experienced maritime professional.
The Technical Superintendent – Tankers will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable and economical operation of the vessels under their responsibility. Working closely with Masters, Chief Engineers, owners and internal departments, you will oversee the technical performance of the assigned fleet, manage repairs and dry-dockings, maintain regulatory compliance and provide effective technical and operational support. This is a key position for someone looking to take ownership of vessel performance while contributing to continuous improvement and a strong safety culture.
Requirements
- Relevant marine qualification: A marine degree with at least 3 years' shipboard or shipping-industry experience, a Chief Engineer's licence with 2+ years' sea service as Chief Engineer, or a minimum of 2 years' experience as a Technical Superintendent.
- Strong technical knowledge: Proven understanding of tanker vessels, marine engineering, applicable international regulations, classification requirements and industry standards.
- Leadership & communication: Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with vessel teams, colleagues, owners and external stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness: Experience with purchasing, budget management, cost control, repairs, maintenance and dry-docking projects, with a strong focus on prudent financial management.
- Professional standards: Good command of written and spoken English, a strong understanding of safety and environmental requirements, and the ability to implement and continuously improve company management systems.
