Consortio is working in partnership with a long-established, privately owned shipowning and management business with deep maritime heritage spanning multiple generations. Operating a compact but diverse fleet of tanker and dry bulk vessels, this organisation is known for its close-knit culture, stability, and hands-on technical management approach. Following an internal departure, they are now seeking to appoint a Technical Superintendent to join their Athens office and support the continued safe and efficient operation of the fleet.

The Technical Superintendent will take direct responsibility for the technical management of three to four vessels, working closely with vessel crews, senior management, and external service providers. The role sits within a small, collaborative technical team and offers broad exposure across maintenance planning, troubleshooting, class and statutory compliance, and day-to-day operational support. This position is well suited to an individual seeking autonomy, responsibility, and the opportunity to grow within a traditional shipowning environment where decisions are made quickly and contributions are visible.

To be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Technical Superintendent or within a technical shipping office environment
  • Engineering education, with either sea-going experience or strong shore-based technical exposure
  • Practical understanding of tanker and/or dry bulk vessel operations
  • Ability to manage multiple vessels and priorities in a lean technical structure
  • Confident communicator, comfortable working closely with senior management and crews
  • Proactive, hands-on mindset suited to a small and close-working team

This role offers the opportunity to join a stable and personable shipowning business with a long-term outlook and a strong internal culture. While the structure is lean, the position provides meaningful responsibility, direct influence over vessel performance, and a competitive package reflective of experience. If this opportunity aligns with your background and career ambitions, Consortio invites you to submit your CV for confidential consideration.
