We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Technical Superintendent / Technical Superintendent to join the technical management team in Marseille. This is a critical shore-based role responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of assigned vessels. As a core member of the ship management team, you will oversee all technical aspects of vessel operations, ensuring compliance with international regulations, company procedures, and best-in-class ship management practices. The role plays a vital part in maintaining vessel reliability, safety of life at sea, and environmental protection, while supporting crews and stakeholders across the fleet. For candidates with extensive experience, this position offers the opportunity to take on a senior leadership remit and contribute strategically to fleet performance and asset management.
Key Requirements:
- A recognised Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture qualification, with strong technical knowledge of vessel operations, maintenance planning, and budget control.
- Previous sea-going experience as Chief Engineer on ocean-going vessels, with shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent; experience with LNG or dual-fuel vessels is highly desirable.
- Proven experience managing planned maintenance systems (PMS), safety management systems (SMS), dry dockings, repairs, inspections, and technical reporting.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage budgets, KPIs, vendor selection, and technical data while ensuring compliance with international regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a proactive, adaptable mindset and the ability to perform effectively under pressure within a global team environment.
