Operating a fleet of modern fishing vessels and backed by decades of operational success, our client is committed to maintaining the highest technical and safety standards across its fleet. As part of its continued growth and investment, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Superintendent to join its shore-based technical team in France.
As Technical Superintendent, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day technical management of a fleet of fishing vessels, ensuring they remain safe, compliant and operationally efficient. You will oversee planned maintenance programmes, coordinate repairs and dry dock projects, manage technical budgets and purchasing activities, and provide ongoing support to vessel crews both remotely and during vessel visits. The successful candidate will work closely with suppliers, contractors, flag administrations and classification societies to ensure all technical work is completed to the highest standards. This is a varied and rewarding position that offers the opportunity to play a key role in supporting a busy commercial fishing fleet while contributing to continuous improvements across technical operations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Technical Superintendent or within a similar shore-based technical management position.
- Strong knowledge of vessel maintenance, technical inspections, dry dockings and planned maintenance systems.
- Experience managing technical purchasing, spare parts procurement and operational budgets.
- Fluent English is essential, with French language skills considered a significant advantage.
- Previous fishing vessel experience is preferred, although candidates from wider commercial shipping backgrounds will also be considered.
