Consortio Recruitment Group is partnering with an established maritime organisation to appoint a Marine Projects and New Building Engineer within its Technical Department. The successful candidate will take technical ownership of marine engineering projects across newbuilding, retrofit and vessel improvement activities.
The position is a hands-on engineering role, focused on design and drawing reviews, technical calculations, plan approval and the evaluation of vessel systems and technical solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with shipyards, Class, design teams and internal stakeholders, supporting projects from specification and design through to construction and delivery. Limited travel will be required for technical meetings, shipyard visits, commissioning and sea trials.
To be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:
- Degree-qualified Marine Engineer, Naval Architect or equivalent, with strong professional engineering experience.
- Proven experience in newbuilding, retrofit or major marine engineering projects within the commercial maritime sector.
- Strong capability in engineering design review, technical calculations and plan approval, with the confidence to assess and challenge technical solutions.
- Broad understanding of marine and vessel systems, including experience with container ships, bulk carriers or other commercial deep-sea vessels.
- Experience working with shipyards, Class, design houses or technical project teams and attending design or technical meetings.
- Experience across the project lifecycle, with exposure to specification, design, construction, commissioning or sea trials.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
