Consortio is proud to be working in partnership with a highly respected and well-established organisation within the commercial ship design and newbuild sector, recognised for its commitment to technical excellence, precision engineering, and client-focused project delivery. This partnership reflects a shared dedication to innovation, quality, and efficiency across the global shipbuilding industry. Together, we are seeking to attract an outstanding professional to join a dynamic and experienced team that exemplifies integrity, collaboration, and operational excellence.
As part of this partnership, we are seeking an accomplished Project Manager to lead the execution of complex newbuild cargo vessel projects. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the full lifecycle of newbuild programmes — from concept design and contract negotiation through engineering coordination, construction oversight, and final delivery — ensuring all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest technical and regulatory standards.
This role demands a balance of technical acumen, organisational capability, and confident stakeholder management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of ship design, shipyard operations, and classification requirements, coupled with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and maintain effective communication with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in project management within the shipbuilding or marine engineering sector.
- Proven background in managing cargo vessel newbuilds (bulk carriers, general cargo, or similar).
- Solid understanding of design processes, class approvals, and shipyard production workflows.
- Excellent planning, budgeting, and negotiation skills.
- Strong leadership with the ability to align technical teams, clients, and suppliers toward shared project goals.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to shipyards and client sites across Europe.
- Full EU working rights.
This is a rare opportunity to join a recognised leader in commercial ship design and construction—an organisation that values precision, professionalism, and performance. If you are a driven marine professional with a proven track record in newbuild project management and a passion for delivering exceptional results, we invite you to apply and become part of a team shaping the future of modern cargo vessel design and construction.
