Purchasing Manager

My client is a young and dynamic tanker company providing comprehensive ship management services to the maritime industry. Their fleet consists of chemical tankers capable of transporting a wide range of chemicals and oils, including vegetable oils. Committed to delivering full satisfaction to their clients, they aim to become a significant player in the maritime sector. Their services encompass technical management, vetting and quality management, purchasing, and crewing for their vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute purchasing strategies to source equipment, goods, and services for vessel operations.Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure optimal terms and pricing.Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand to ensure timely procurement.Oversee the maintenance of procurement records and related documentation.Collaborate with technical and crewing departments to understand and meet their procurement needs.Assess, manage, and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain.Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all purchasing activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Purchasing/Senior Purchasing or in a similar procurement role within the maritime industry.

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.

Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Fluency in English; proficiency in Dutch is an advantage.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
