Consortio have partnered with a growing maritime engineering organisation that is expanding its team due to continued business success. With a reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions and supporting complex maritime projects, they are now seeking a Senior Naval Architect to join their engineering team in The Netherlands.

The Senior Naval Architect will play a key role in the development of maritime designs from concept through to basic engineering, providing technical expertise across a variety of challenging projects. The role will involve performing and evaluating stability and design calculations, analysing maritime systems, and making informed technical decisions throughout the design process. The successful candidate will also contribute to engineering quality, support project delivery, and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers within the team.

This position offers an experienced naval architect the opportunity to take ownership of complex engineering challenges while contributing to the continued growth and capability of a skilled maritime engineering department. The successful candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, confidence in decision-making, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary project teams.

To be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:

  • A completed MBO, HBO, or WO degree in Maritime Engineering or a similar field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within the maritime sector
  • Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or BricsCAD
  • Experience using specialist maritime software such as Optimoor and HECSTAB
  • Strong understanding of naval architecture principles, stability calculations, and maritime design processes
  • Ability to analyse technical challenges and justify engineering decisions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders
  • A proactive approach with a strong sense of responsibility
  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior engineers is advantageous
  • Fluency in Dutch is desired

This position provides the opportunity to work on technically challenging maritime projects alongside experienced engineers, with the ability to make a direct impact on engineering performance and project outcomes. Alongside professional development opportunities, the role offers a collaborative working environment, 31.5 days of annual leave with the option to purchase additional time, and a strong social culture within a driven engineering team. If you believe you meet the requirements, please submit your CV.
