Our client is a competitive ship brokering house with over 15 years of experience operating in the wet market. Although they predominantly operate with small sized chemical tankers, they are also responsible for the transport of feedstocks, biofuels and base oils. They serve all intra-European routes (including Baltic and Black Sea) and all routes between Europe and the USA, Caribbean, South America, West Africa, India and the Far East. Their office is made up of forward thinking and independent brokers who are constantly looking to bring in the new business and help the company reach new heights.
This role is for a competitive broker to join their team in Hamburg and be part of a small yet growing team. In this role you will be responsible for the brokering of small handy sized tanker vessels and be expected to bring in new business and new clientele for the company. Although independent work is a vital aspect of the role, you will be directly reporting to the co-founder and managing director. In order to be successful in this role you need to be well versed in the spot chartering of handy sized chemical vessels and be knowledgeable of all major European trade routes. In addition to this you will need to be able to build excellent rapport and hold all your clients interests in the highest regard.
In order to be considered for this role you must:
- Have 2 + years in small handy sized tanker vessel brokering.
- Have 2+ years’ experience with spot charters.
- Fluent in English both written and verbal.
- Well versed in all European trade routes.
Other desirable attributes include:
- Have some knowledge of the German language.
