Our client is an international ship manager that provides a number of services for the maritime industry.  With offices located in 20 different countries they are truly a global force that has a reputation for reliability, quality and efficiency with a fleet of dry vessels in their ownership.  Due to expansion of the fleet they require a technical purchaser to support the procurement team.
 

You will be responsible for obtaining quotes, negotiating costs in the procurement of spare parts and material procurement while communicating with ships to ascertain their purchasing requirements.  Further duties will include monitoring and evaluation of the technical selection of inspectors while optimizing your budget through monitored spending.  Great communication skills are a must for this vacancy where you will be negotiating with suppliers and engineers alike to deliver cost saving measures.
 

Successful Applicants will:
 

  • Have previous experience as a technical purchaser or have sailed as an engineer.
     
  •  Be I.T literate.
     
  •  Have excellent command of both English
     
  •  Market leading negotiation skills.
