A well-established shipping company based in Germany is seeking an experienced Technical Superintendent to oversee the technical management of their chemical and gas tanker fleet. The Technical Superintendent will take ownership of the technical and safety performance of the fleet playing a central role in ensuring vessels operate efficiently reliably and in line with company standards. This includes approving materials spare parts repairs and services within budget while maintaining close and proactive communication with vessels to manage claims repairs and shipyard activities. The role also involves overseeing preventive maintenance monitoring onboard performance and working closely with the Head of Technical & Nautical Department to successfully manage and resolve more complex operational matters.
To be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:
- Previous experience as a Technical Superintendent on chemical and gas tankers ideally 1–2 years.
- A COC 1 qualification would be advantageous.
- Strong technical understanding of chemical and gas carrier operations.
- Fluent in English; German language skills are highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an office-based team environment.
