Consortio Recruitment Group is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly respected ship management company with a strong presence within the international maritime sector. Known for its professional approach to ship management, commitment to safety and focus on operational excellence, the company is now looking to strengthen its Athens-based technical team with an experienced maritime professional.

As Technical Superintendent – Tankers, you will take responsibility for the safe, efficient and cost-effective operation of a designated fleet of tanker vessels. Based in Athens, Greece, you will work closely with Masters, Chief Engineers, vessel crews, owners and internal departments, providing strong technical oversight and ensuring vessels remain fully compliant, operationally efficient and maintained to the highest standards. This is an important shore-based position offering the opportunity to take ownership of vessel performance while contributing to the company's continued development and success.

  • Relevant maritime background: A marine-related university degree with a minimum of 3 years' experience onboard vessels or within the shipping industry, a Chief Engineer's licence with at least 2 years' sea service as Chief Engineer, or a minimum of 2 years' previous experience as a Technical Superintendent.
  • Tanker experience: Strong technical knowledge of tanker vessels, including vessel maintenance, repairs, machinery and the application of relevant international rules, regulations and classification requirements.
  • Leadership & communication: Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with Masters, Chief Engineers, crew and shore-based stakeholders.
  • Financial & commercial awareness: Experience managing purchasing, budgets and technical costs, with the ability to maintain strong financial control while ensuring vessels are operated safely and efficiently.
  • Professional capability: Good command of English, a strong understanding of safety and environmental requirements, and the ability to implement, monitor and continuously improve company management systems.

If your experience matches the requirements of this opportunity and you're ready to take the next step in your shore-based career, we'd be keen to hear from you.
