The Tender Engineer is a key role responsible for preparing and coordinating technical and commercial tenders for both sea and land-based heavy lift and transport projects. The Tender Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring that tenders are competitive, accurate and customized to meet specific project requirements, whether at sea and/or on land.
What is required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in (Mechanical) Engineering, Maritime Studies or equivalent;
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in tendering, project estimation and sales support in both maritime and/or land-side operations;
- Able to perform under tight schedules and deadlines;
- Able to work in a team as well as independently;
- Has got a great level of accuracy and eye for detail;
- Fluent in English (both verbally and in writing) and is able to speak any of the languages of the countries the company is active in.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze client tender documents comprehensively to discern project requirements for both sea and/or land projects;
• Prepare engineering drawings for sea and/or land activities;
• Prepare technical documents complying with client requirements;
• Prepare Primavera project schedules;
• Collaborate with Project Management and Commercial departments to devise viable technical solutions;
• Prepare meticulous project estimations, outlining anticipated costs and timelines;
• Engage with suppliers, subcontractors, and potential partners to solicit quotations and assess collaboration opportunities;
• Attend clarification meetings with potential clients, representing both sea and/or land tenders;
• Champion the continuous refinement and enhancement of the tendering processes;
• Supervise and ensure punctual submission of all tenders, adhering to client stipulated deadlines;
• Liaise closely with the operations units post-award to guarantee smooth transitions and project handovers.
