Plans are under consideration for the North East’s first ‘Dutch-Style’ cycling roundabout

North Tyneside council is planning to improve the cycling network by considering the North Easts first ‘Dutch Style’ cycling roundabout.

Under the proposals a 2km segregated route could be created, which would give priority to cyclists and pedestrians; Including Zebra crossings and a dedicated cycle path around the roundabout.
