As a First Engineer, you will take a senior leadership position within the ship’s engineering department, reporting directly to the Staff Chief Engineer. You will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient running of all engine room operations, supervising the maintenance and repair of machinery, and ensuring compliance with international safety and environmental standards. This role demands exceptional technical expertise, decisive leadership, and the ability to manage a diverse team of engineers. Your work will be essential in ensuring that the vessel operates at peak performance, delivering both safety and efficiency for guests and crew alike.
Requirements:
- Hold a national First Engineer Certificate of Competency (COC III/2 unlimited) in accordance with STCW regulations.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a senior engineering position, preferably on a cruise vessel or similar large passenger ship.
- B2 level English (spoken) essential; additional language skills are advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage multicultural engineering teams effectively.
- Strong knowledge of maritime safety regulations, planned maintenance systems (PMS), and modern marine engineering technologies.
