We are currently seeking a qualified 2nd Engineer to join the engineering team on board. This is a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operation of all engine room machinery and systems. Reporting directly to the 1st Engineer, the successful candidate will be entrusted with watch duties, maintenance execution via the Planned Maintenance System (PMS), and supporting ship-wide safety systems. Your technical expertise and leadership will directly impact vessel performance, safety, and guest satisfaction.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a watchkeeping officer on a cruise ship, or prior service as a 2nd Engineer on other vessel types.
- Valid mandatory certifications and training as per the company’s Marine HR standards, including MES training.
- Strong working knowledge of safety and environmental regulations, with a proactive approach to compliance.
- Familiarity with shipboard automation systems and the ability to execute mechanical maintenance tasks independently.
- Proficiency in English at a B2 level or higher, enabling effective communication across multicultural teams.
