Consortio is partnered with a leading Marine Insurance provider that is expanding its claims department due to sustained growth in its client portfolio. As a result, the business is now seeking an experienced Claims Handler with a background in Protection & Indemnity (P&I) or marine liability insurance to join the team in Spain. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process a portfolio of marine insurance claims with a focus on P&I matters, including cargo, personal injury, pollution, collision, and other third-party liabilities.
  • Liaise with shipowners, brokers, surveyors, correspondents, and legal representatives to gather documentation and ensure accurate claims resolution.
  • Provide clear guidance to clients on policy coverage and claims procedures in both English and Spanish.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all claims activity in internal systems.
  • Support senior claims handlers and underwriters with technical advice and client engagement.
  • Contribute to internal case reviews, audits, and continuous process improvements.

Key Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in marine claims handling, ideally within a P&I Club, insurer, or law firm.
  • Strong understanding of maritime law, insurance principles, and claims resolution processes.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) is essential.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.A proactive, client-focused mindset with attention to detail.
