Our client is a premier global independent energy and marine consultancy, dedicated to mitigating risks and advancing the energy transition within the renewables, maritime, and oil and gas sectors. With extensive expertise spanning marine and engineering disciplines, they operate in over 300 locations worldwide.
As an integral member of their Germany team, you will conduct vessel surveys and inspections, including Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) services and general marine assurance inspections such as pre-purchase P&I intake and Hull & Machinery (H&M) surveys. Additionally, you will handle basic project management tasks including inspection coordination, project setup, and client invoicing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in technical and procedural reviews and compile marine study reports for marine and offshore projects, including site attendance.
- Conduct suitability surveys, marine assurance inspections, H&M surveys, and other vessel inspections as needed.
- Evaluate operational risks and assess the feasibility of marine operations through technical review of onsite specifications.
- Assist and/or lead marine assurance projects to deliver optimal solutions to clients within specified timelines, costs, and quality standards.
- Ensure the timely delivery of quality documents as established by management and clients.
- Coordinate marine inspection activities, including organizing surveys, quality assurance of inspection reports, and freelancer timesheet approvals.
- Liaise with clients to ensure successful project completion and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Hold an STCW II/2 or STCW III/2 certification with proven sea experience.
- Candidates with experience as a Master Mariner, Chief Mate, or Engineer looking to transition to a shore-based role, or Surveyors seeking career advancement, are encouraged to apply.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in the Marine or Offshore Industry.Experience in General Cargo Handling and Breakbulk.
- Thorough understanding of ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, and HSE standards.
- Exposure to marine consultancy including warranty services, vessel and asset inspections, audits, surveys, damage surveys, and project management is advantageous.
Additional Information:
- This role supports hybrid working, with the expectation to attend the Hamburg office two days a week.
- Flexibility and availability for travel to conduct surveys are required.
