We are seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our esteemed culinary team onboard. This role is crucial in maintaining the highest standards of food quality and hygiene, directly impacting the overall guest experience. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef, ensuring seamless workflow within the Galley and taking charge in their absence. Key responsibilities include overseeing menu creation, managing food-cost calculations, and ensuring strict compliance with hygiene standards. This position is vital in fostering a professional kitchen environment, leading a team, and ensuring that all culinary operations run smoothly and efficiently.

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified culinary training and significant experience in a management role, preferably on a cruise vessel or large hotel.
  • Strong knowledge of modern international cuisine, inventory management, and food-cost calculations.
  • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken, with excellent communication skills.
  • Expertise in complaint management and maintaining high service standards.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, particularly MS Office, Fidelio, and Micros, with a solid educational background.
