Staff Captain - Temp

Consortio is proud to announce its collaboration with an esteemed, award-winning cruise line, wherein we are seeking a dynamic Staff Captain to join the deck department onboard. As partners, we aim to uphold the highest standards of maritime excellence and ensure the safety, welfare, and efficiency of our crew and passengers.

The Staff Captain, reporting directly to the Master, serves as the second-in-command and oversees daily operations of the Deck Department. This role encompasses mentoring and coaching navigation officers, safety officers, and deck crew, while also maintaining responsibility for bridge management, stability, safety, and security procedures. With a keen focus on safety and compliance, the Staff Captain conducts regular appraisals, oversees maintenance routines, and coordinates training sessions to ensure adherence to company policies and international regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deputy to Master, assuming command when necessary
• Oversight of deck department operations and crew welfare
• Maintenance of stability booklet and adherence to safety protocols
• Coordination of exterior maintenance and planned maintenance routines
• Liaison with Company Security Officer and oversight of ship security procedures.
