Consortio is delighted to be partnering with a dynamic and growing shipping company that is expanding its operations team. Managing a fleet of 15 handy size bulk carriers and 2 multi-purpose vessels, the company handles all fleet management disciplines in-house. With a reputation for collaboration and a hands-on working culture, they are now seeking an experienced Vessel Operator to support the smooth and efficient running of their fleet.

In this role, you will join a well-established and knowledgeable commercial team, taking ownership of the daily operations of your assigned vessels. Your responsibilities will include overseeing scheduling, route planning, and voyage performance, while maintaining regular communication with vessel masters, port authorities, and clients. You’ll ensure compliance with maritime regulations and safety standards, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and work cross-functionally to optimise voyages and solve operational challenges — all with a sharp focus on commercial performance and cost control.

To be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in maritime commercial operations
  • In-depth understanding of dry cargo shipping operations and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
  • Willingness to travel for approximately 3 months per year
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently
  • Commercial awareness and experience with charter parties
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure
  • Experience working with Veson would be a significant advantage

This is an excellent opportunity for a dry cargo operations professional ready to take on a fast-paced, high-impact role. You’ll be supported by an experienced team and trusted to make a real contribution from day one. The position is based in southern Germany for an initial 6-month probationary period, with the option to relocate to Hamburg thereafter if preferred. The company offers a competitive salary, attractive benefits, and flexibility including remote working after probation. The role also involves regular global travel and the opportunity to grow within a company that values professional development. If you're ready to elevate your career in vessel operations, apply now with your CV to be considered.
