What’s the job day to day?

Imagine your desk as your own empire. You build your own area of expertise, with help from colleagues and existing client relationships, and then reap the rewards. Building a desk requires a very entrepreneurial mindset to make it seriously successful. 

The core daily activities are:

Researching online and offline to find potential new clients in your specialist market.

Finding the best point of contact at this potential new client.

Making sales calls to these businesses to sell our services – convincing potential clients that working with you is a great idea!

Negotiating contracts to gain signed commercial terms with the client.

Advertising jobs you have been given by these exciting new clients.

Searching the database for candidates that could be suitable for the jobs you are working on.

Networking and performing headhunting activities to target candidates.

Working with candidates to give expert interview advice prior to them meeting your client.

Negotiating employment contracts.

An eight-hour day in recruitment is two to four hours a day on the phone, building relationships and networking, and the rest is research and admin around the running of your desk. No two days are the same! You can expect lots of variety in a fast-paced environment.
